Figures for April 2024

The CPI describes the development in consumer prices for goods and services purchased by private households in Norway, and is a common measure of inflation. The CPI adjusted for tax changes and excluding energy products (CPI-ATE) is a measurement of the underlying growth in consumer prices.

Price index of first-hand domestic sales

Figures for April 2024

The price index of first-hand domestic sales (PIF) measures the price development of first-hand sales of goods to the Norwegian market. That means goods from Norwegian production sold in Norway and imported goods. From the publication of the January index 2024, The reference year is changed to 2021=100. Earlier the reference year was 2015=100.

Producer price index

Figures for April 2024

The producer price index (PPI) measures the price development of domestic produced goods sold both to the Norwegian and the foreign market. The survey covers oil and gas extraction, manufacturing, mining, electricity and some service industries. Starting with the index for January 2024, published the 9th of February 2024, the PPI is published with reference year 2021=100. From January 2019 to December 2023 the reference year was 2015=100.

Victimisation and fear of crime, survey on living conditions

Figures for 2023

The statistic contains information about the victims and the incidents of theft, damage to property, violence and threats of violence in a twelve-month period. The population is residents aged 16 years and older. The statistics are based on data from the Norwegian Survey of living conditions, since 2004 as a national module in addition to the EU Survey on Income and Living Conditions (EU-SILC), and various attached registry information.

CPI up 3.6 per cent last 12 months

From April 2023 to April 2024 the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 3.6 per cent, while the CPI adjusted for tax changes and excluding energy products (CPI-ATE) rose by 4.4 per cent. The CPI increased by 0.8 per cent from March 2024 to April 2024, while the CPI-ATE increased by 0.9 per cent.

Seafood prices reaching record level

Prices of Norwegian seafood increased by 1.6 per cent in April, reaching a record high level. April is the fourth month in a row with rising seafood prices. This is one of several examples showing that export-oriented manufacturing industries have been getting better prices for their goods lately.

Labour force survey

Figures for 1st quarter 2024

The Labour Force Survey (LFS) started in 1972, and it shows how many persons who are in employment, unemployed and outside the labour force. It provide information on, among other things, occupations and working time for those in employment, how long the unemployed have searched for a job, and age and educational level for all.
